Assisting Families in Central Florida Since 2007

What Is The Give Hope Hero Program?

Give Hope Hero Program

The Give Hope Hero Program was established in 2007, and has served to assist central Florida families battling childhood cancer. Hundreds of families have reached out to us to help their 'hero'. Occasionally the request has been a 'wish' for the child - one family went to Disney for the weekend when they received the news that both the father and the son had cancer at the same time. Most times however, we have simply been asked to step in and provide very basic assistance to make their lives easier.

Many families struggle with keeping a job when their child is diagnosed with cancer. The constant trips to the doctor, overnight stays in the hospital, and surgeries affect their ability to maintain a job. Paying a utility bill or buying gas to drive to visit their child in the hospital becomes difficult without income. We step in to help resolve these needs that arise through partnerships with local vendors and donations.

How Do We Help?

For one family, we were able to arrange to make their house wheelchair compliant so that the mother who was in a special care facility would be allowed to come home and be with her little boy who was battling cancer. Another family's house burned to the ground while they were at the hospital for their son's chemotherapy treatment. By funding this program, you empower us to step in when tragic circumstances strike and make a real difference for families right here in Central Florida.
